What are credits?

Credits are what AI jobs run on — generating new video, images, music, or narration, plus enhancements like slow motion, upscaling, and noise reduction. Different jobs cost different amounts, and when the price depends on your footage, Cuts shows the cost up front before running. Editing, analysis, and the agent come with your plan — they don't use credits.

Do unused credits roll over?

Plan credits reset with each billing period and don't roll over. Credit packs are different: they kick in after your plan credits run out, and they never expire.

What if I run out of credits?

Grab a credit pack and keep going — packs kick in automatically and never expire. Or wait for your monthly plan credits to reset. Free gets a small monthly allowance and can't buy packs, so there it's wait for the reset or upgrade.

What happens when I hit my agent limit?

Limits reset every week. On paid plans you can also keep going on credits — a few credits per agent message — or just wait for the reset. The editor keeps working either way: limits pause the agent, never your project.

Am I charged for failed jobs?

No. Credits are spent only when a job succeeds. If something fails, it costs nothing.

Does exporting cost credits?

No — export is always free, on every plan. Credits pay for AI jobs like generation and enhancement, not for getting your video out. Free exports carry a small watermark; paid plans export clean.

Is there a watermark?

Free exports carry a small Ferment watermark. Any paid plan removes it — clean export on Pro and Max.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for, then move to Free. Subscribed on the web? Cancel in your account settings. Through the iOS app? Cancel in your Apple subscription settings — canceling on a different platform won't stop billing.

What's your refund policy?

The Free plan exists so you can try everything before paying. Web purchases are generally non-refundable, but if something went wrong, email support@ferment.run and we'll try to make it right. App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Do my videos get uploaded?

On Free — no. Analysis runs on your phone, and only its compact results sync. On paid plans your originals back up to your cloud library if you turn backup on — it's optional. For jobs that run in the cloud — generation, and enhancements like upscaling — Cuts uploads only the piece the job needs and deletes it right after.

What happens to my videos if I downgrade?

They're yours and they live on your device — nothing is held hostage. If cloud backup was on, it stops syncing new footage; what's already backed up stays downloadable. Unspent pack credits keep working too — they never expire, even on Free. We never delete your work without notice.

Can I post what I make commercially?

Yes. You own your footage and the output Cuts makes for you — on Free and Pro alike. No commercial-rights upsell.

Is my footage private?

Yes. Cuts isn't a social platform — nothing you upload is public, shared with other users, or sold. You decide if and where it gets posted.

Why do some costs show a range?

A few jobs vary with what you ask — the agent thinks more for a full montage than a quick question, and a deep web search reads more than a basic one. For the pricier generative jobs, like lip-sync or video, Cuts shows the cost before you run them. Either way, you're only charged when a job succeeds.
